iPhone 5 Maps bombs + doesn’t have transit info
There is a big keruffle going on about the new iPhone maps app - itself a child of a bitter fight between google and apple. Because, apparently, it expects you to part oceans on your drive from work to home and other such things. The underlying dataset is bad.
But the bigger issue is that this maps app does not even bother to include transit. Because more and more people use the maps app while walking, biking and taking transit - like this fellow from Forbes.
Something, third-parties are trying to fix.
Tells us a little about how important public transportation is to the world’s largest publicly-traded company. AAPL.
