Improve your marathon timing - take the subway!
Representative Paul Ryan has created a bit of a stir by claiming that he ran a marathon in the “high twos” rather than in the four-hour plus that he actually took. What was he thinking? That Runners World would not check for facts and that Paul Krugman would have nothing to say?
The only way to shave an hour from your marathon time is to (TRUMPET FLOURISH) take public-transportation.
Marathoners all across history have resorted to public-transportation as a timing improvement device. All that transit requires, of course, is that they get their ticket. So whether you are Rosie Ruiz or Paul Ryan, improve your marathon timing - take the subway.
