Taking the Car out of Carbon

A sustainable future for the world has to reduce car usage, increase walking, biking and transit ridership. Correctly pricing carbon will be key to making this happen.

William Whyte’s “Social Life of Small Urban Spaces”

A colleague from Paris forwarded me this link earlier today. I had not seen this since grad school - i.e. seeing it after a decade and a half. It was quite delightful then, and it is today. I forget who was responsible for showing it to us. Julian Beinart, if memory serves. 

The time-lapse technique the film employs, tells the story even today. So many years and technologies later.
